John Smith's New Brewery
John Smith's brewery moved from its old premises to the purpose built brewery that bears his name today in 1883.
Samuel Smith’s Old Brewery
Samuel Smith inherited the Old Brewery and built his business into the family owned brewery that is there today.
The Victoria Brewery was situated behind Strafford House, High Street, opposite the Methodist Church.
The New Brewery
In about 1875 Edwin Wilson went into partnership with Benjamin Braime and formed Wilson and Braimes Brewery.
Tower Brewery was opened in November 1882 on land on Wetherby Road sold to the brewery by the North Eastern Railway.
